2. Meeting all my Twitter and Facebook friends
I’m a big fan of Twitter and Facebook. I have connections with people I know in real life and many friends online via these two sites. The main reason for going to these conference is to connect with these friends. I get most of my news from Twitter and I’ve connected with other Catholics, other teachers, soap fans, TV fans, critics and celebrities. Although I follow many more people than follow me back, I still enjoy the site very much. On Facebook, I have connected with many people I knew many years ago from school or currently work with or have worked with. I also have connected with people I know online from other sites. Last summer, my high school reunion happened entirely because of FB and next week my 8th grade reunion dinner will happen because of it. You can’t deny how powerful these social media sites and tools have become.
Much like yesterday’s post, I am looking forward to putting a face to the name/avatar of my friends on my other networks. Some of these people I met last year, but many will be new. The new ones include, but are limited to: Marika, Greg and Jennifer, Joanne, Dane, Susan, Peggy, Carlos, Domenico and Melanie and Jim and Kim and family. See you soon, friends!
Keep tuned into this blog with anticipation for number 1 tomorrow. Trust me, it’s a good one! 🙂
